For A Purpose

Have you ever really paused to contemplate the vastness of the universe in which we live? I mean really to try to comprehend the size of the sun, the various planets, and then to realize that our galaxy is merely one of many in the vastness of the heavens? To try and comprehend that the God of heaven Who created all this marvelous work is ever watching and governing it? Some night just go out and take the time to study the heavens themselves. Then, perhaps you will raise the same question asked by David: "When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; what is man, that Thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that Thou dost care for him?" (Ps. 8:3-4). And then, having surveyed the vastness of the heavenly bodies, pause and note the minute details God went to on this earth in creating even the tiny insects-the mosquito, the ants, etc. The same God that created such huge and far reaching bodies above also took the time to create the tiny, yea even microscopic creatures all about us. Truly they are a credit to God's concern for all our needs. Isaiah comments that God did not create this earth to be a waste place, "but formed it to be inhabited" (45:18). The next time you think no one cares, read Matt. 10:2831; then go out and ponder the creative power of God in both size and detail. No where else will you find such a great architect who is also concerned with such microscopic details (and think how microscopic they must be to Him who created the Sun, etc.). Now, can you truly say No One cares for you? Truth Magazine, XVIII:10, p. 6 |
