Twenty-Four Years in the First Grade!

Yes, that is how long it would take to get through the first grade if our public schools met only as frequently as our Sunday Bible classes and if no sessions were missed!

How many of you parents desire your children to spend 24 years in the first grade? Ridiculous, is it not? Whoever heard of such a thing?

But... as important as a secular education is, your children's spiritual education is vastly more significant. Do you depend on one weekly forty-five minute public Bible class to give your child all the Bible knowledge he needs? How often do you teach him God's Word in the privacy of your own home? Public Bible classes, on Sunday mornings and week-nights are essential and we need them more frequently; but the basic burden (and privilege) of teaching your children God's will is on "ye fathers nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord." (Eph. 6:4)

Twenty-four years in the first grade! Terrible! But even worse would be an eternity in hell!
