Who Was Jesus?

It is popular today to call Jesus a good man but to deny that He is the only begotten Son of God. For example, the infamous rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar- says about Jesus what infidels have said all along; He was nothing but a mere man. But, either the lowly Galilean is the Son of God or He was one of the vilest deceivers who ever lived. Jesus of Nazareth claimed equality with God (John 5:17-18). Therefore, He is either the Son of God or a blasphemer. The son of Man accepted worship from men (Matthew 28:9-10), although He taught that only God is to be worshipped (Matthew 4: 10). Thus, he is either the Son of God or an imprudent pretender. Jesus condemned self-righteousness (Luke 18:9-14), yet He confessed no sin Himself (John 8:46). Therefore, He is either the Son of God or a hypocrite. This carpenter's son claimed to be the Savior (John 14:61. Thus, He' is either the Son of God or a liar and imposter. Jesus claimed to give His life as the ransom for man (Matthew 20:28). He, therefore, is either the Son of God or a fanatic. There is no middle ground with Jesus Christ (Luke 11:23). You must either confess Him to be the Christ, the Son of God, or He will reject you (Matthew 10: 32-33). Thus, Jesus' query to Peter also probes your conscience, "But whom say ye that I am?" (Matt. 16:15)
